In state- Make sure to get about an 1150 on the SAT, moderately high GPA, and apply VERY early. With UConn, applying early really helps. Make sure to show them how badly you want to come here. Write a terrific essays, have great letters of recommendation, and show off your extracurricular activities.

It's been getting harder to get into UConn, but by no means is it difficult. If you get decent grades (I mean B's and a few C's and take a couple of honors classes) and do some extracurriculars, you're definitely in. Their SAT is high 1100s so anywhere within that range is good. If you did really well in high school, you can get into Honors here, which has a lot of benefits. I had good SATs, ok grades, but I know people who had far less than that and got in.

Get good grades and by that I mean at least a 3.0 GPA.
Have extra acitivities such as playing a sport, being in a club or playing an instrument (shows commitment)
Also VOLUNTEER!!! Basically try to be a well rounded individual. Oh yes and score well on your SAT!!!
